Sticking, sagging and drafty doors fixed, plus new interior and exterior doors hung square and sealed.
A door is the part of a house you touch most. When it sticks, scrapes the floor, will not latch or lets a draft under it, you notice every day. In Middle Tennessee, humidity swells wood in summer and shrinks it in winter, so doors that were fine last year start to bind.
We repair what can be saved and replace what cannot. Hinges are reset, jambs are shimmed square, strike plates are moved, thresholds and weatherstripping are replaced, and new doors are hung with proper clearances so they swing freely and seal tight.
A sagging door often needs only a hinge adjustment and a longer screw into the framing. We try the simple fix first and recommend replacement only when the door or the jamb is past saving.
A new door only works if the opening is plumb and level. We shim, set the reveal evenly, flash and caulk the exterior, and add weatherstripping so the door seals against drafts and water.
Locks, handles, hinges and closers are installed to the same finish and aligned so they operate smoothly. We also rekey, add deadbolts and install smart locks.
A door that does not latch or a frame that is split near the strike plate is a security weakness. We reinforce strike plates and jambs with long screws so the door resists force as well as drafts.
