Stuck sashes, broken glass seals, rotted sills and drafty frames repaired, or replaced with new windows set square.
Windows let in light and let out money when they leak air. A window that will not open, will not stay up, fogs between the panes or shows soft wood on the sill is telling you it needs attention. Left alone, water gets into walls and the problem grows.
We repair sashes, balances, locks, screens and sills, and we install replacement windows when the old ones are beyond repair. Each window is measured, set plumb and level, flashed and sealed so it opens easily and keeps the weather where it belongs.
Many older windows have good frames and bad hardware. New balances, locks, glazing and weatherstripping can bring them back for much less than full replacement.
Replacement windows are measured twice and installed square, with flashing and low-expansion foam in the gaps, then caulked and trimmed inside and out.
Soft sills and trim are cut out and replaced with solid material, primed and painted, so the repair protects the wall behind it.
New seals, glazing and weatherstripping not only stop drafts, they cut street noise and make a room more comfortable. Many owners are surprised how much better an old window can feel after a proper repair.
