Shower & Tub Repair

Re-grout, re-caulk and repair leaking, moldy or cracked showers and tub surrounds before water reaches the wall.

Showers and tubs fail slowly and quietly. Grout cracks, caulk peels, a tile loosens and water slips behind. Weeks later the wall is soft, the paint peels outside the shower and mold grows. Repairing the joints early costs far less than rebuilding the wall.

We re-grout and re-caulk showers and tubs, replace loose and cracked tile, fix leaking valves trim and drains within the scope of minor plumbing, and repair soft spots in the surround. When damage is bigger, we explain it plainly and offer a rebuild plan.

Grout and caulk that last

Old grout is raked out, the joint cleaned and new grout applied and sealed. Where tile meets the tub or the corner, we use flexible silicone caulk, not grout, so movement does not crack it.

Find the leak

Not every stain is a surface problem. We check around valves, the drain, the tub spout and the walls on the other side to find where water is really going.

Surround and tile repair

Loose tile is lifted, the bed cleaned and the piece reset. Soft wall areas are opened up, dried, repaired and waterproofed before closing.

Preventing mold

Squeegeeing the shower after use, running the fan and keeping caulk in good repair keeps mold under control. We share simple habits that make a difference.

Questions

Shower & Tub Repair FAQ

How often should shower caulk be replaced?

Every few years, or whenever it cracks, peels or grows mold. Fresh caulk keeps water out of the wall.

Can you fix a leaking shower?

Often. We find the source, whether it is grout, caulk or trim, and repair it, or tell you if a rebuild is needed.

How long before I can shower again?

Grout and caulk need cure time, usually a day. We give exact timing for the products we use.

Can you regrout the whole shower?

Yes. We rake out all joints and apply new, sealed grout so the shower looks new.

How do I stop mold in my shower?

Ventilate, wipe down and keep grout and caulk sealed. We can treat mold and fix the cause.
